Crowns

Crowns are ideal restoration for teeth that have been broken or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling. A crown could be used for a number of other reasons:

• you may have discoloured fillings and would like to improve the appearance of the tooth
• you may have had a root filling which will need a crown to protect what is left of the tooth.
• it may help hold a bridge or denture firmly in place.

Crowns can be made of Metal/Porcelain, Zirconium/Porcelain or pressed porcelain which are strong and most natural materials. We will prepare the tooth to the ideal shape,  take an impression (mould) of the prepared tooth & give to the dental technician along with an appropriate shade and other information needed. A temporary will be made so that ( mostly for aesthetic). The final restoration is back usually in one week time & will be fitted after you and your dentist are happy with the fit and appearance of it.

Types of Crowns

Posterior Crown

The tooth is prepared and a crown is then made and fitted to the tooth.

Bonded Crown

The crown which has a metal base and porcelain coating is created.

Anterior Crown

The crown is made from natural looking and biocompatible porceline.

Crown Margin
